A popular public transport bus, VIP, that was en route to Wulensi in the Northern Region has ended up nose first in the River Oti at Dambai in the Krachi East Municipality.
The bus, with the registration number GT 5313-19, was travelling with passengers from Accra to Wulensi.
A report filed by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) noted that the incident happened on Thursday morning, 10 July.
According to the report, the bus ended up in the river while trying to get onto a pontoon to ferry it across to the other side of the river.
Luckily for passengers aboard the bus, the driver requested that they get off the bus so he could park properly on the pontoon.
The report stated that there were no casualties as a winch tractor pulled the bus out of the river after failed attempts by an excavator that was earlier deployed to retrieve the bus.
