Parts of the Greater Accra, Central Region and their surrounding areas have experienced earth tremors on Wednesday night.
The phenomenon which took place at about 10:40 pm Wednesday, June 24, 2020, occurred three times in the space of 10 minutes.
According to the USGS (United States Geological Survey), it recorded a magnitude of 4.0 with a 10.0-kilometre depth at 10: 53 pm and occurred at 6 km from Gbawe in Accra.
Authorities in Ghana are yet to give detailed explanation to the phenomenon that happened on Wednesday night.
A CCTV footage that has surfaced online shows the quick and brief movement of the surface of the earth which shook buildings and other structures.
