We will never cut our hair just to be in school’-Rastafarian students tell.
After the release of school replacement forms of Basic Education Certificate Examination(B.E.C.E), many students made their way to Senior High School in order to climb the academic ladder.
The authorities at the Achimota school have reportedly denied admission to two Rastafarians, Ras Aswad Marghguy and Tyrone Iras Marghguy who have been posted there to continue their studies.
According to a report on TV3, the school authorities denied them admission because it is against the rules and regulations of the school to admit students with dreadlock or braids.
In an interview sighted by Ghnewsbag on TV3News, the two Rastafarian students publicized that they will never cut their hair because the dreadlocks is their identity and so they will not give in to the demands of the authorities at Achimota school just to be accepted.
A certain man believed to be their father stated that Rastafarians have the right to be educated so they can contribute to the development of their country, Ghana.
