Sarkodie, Pappy Kojo, Kwaw Kese, D-Black and other Ghanaian musicians stuck and stranded abroad in the wake of coronavirus have received good news as they will soon come back home.
A few weeks ago, the musicians have been appealing and calling on the President to open borders for their return.
Sarkodie’s wife, Tracy tweeted her dissatisfaction over government’s refusal to open the borders for them to return home.
The President on Sunday, May 31 2020 announced that Ghanaian citizens abroad will soon be evacuated back to Ghana.
Nana Akufo-Addo, in his 10th address to the nation on measures taken to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country ease restrictions on public gatherings but extended the closure of the country’s borders.
The President stated that, “given that there are Ghana residents stranded abroad, a special dispensation is going to be given for their evacuation back to Ghana, where they will be subjected to the mandatory quarantine and safety protocols”.
Although the president didn’t provide the exact date for the evacuation, it comes as a sigh of relief for the musicians stuck abroad.
