The rivalry football game was full of controversies whichescalated into violence. The gamed ended with fourteen yellow cards and five red cards.

The most notable event was the scuffle between Neymar Jr of PSG and Alvaro Gonzalez of Marseille.

Neymar was sent off the field after receiving a red card. He was seen and head ranting to the 4th referee on the sidelines before walking to the dressing.

In rebuttal Gonzalez tweeted a picture with his teammates and captioned it, ‘There is no place for racism. I’ve been clean my whole career and I have all these teammates and friends I see every day. Sometimes you have to learn how to lose and accept it on the field. Incredible three points today. Allez l’OM thank you family.’

He also replied Neymar’s post, ‘You are not a man to assume your mistake, losing is part of the sport. Now insulting and bringing racism into our lives, no, I don’t agree. I DON’T RESPECT YOU! YOU HAVE NO CHARACTER!  Assume what you say my brother……Be a man Rapa! Racist.’
