Ofankor murder: Family of late tenant demand justice (video)

The family of the late tenant identified as Benjamin Otchere is demanding justice.

One headline which is closely followed by Ghanaians since last Saturday is the murder that took place at Ofankor, a suburb in Accra, Ghana.

Recall, the suspect Victor Stephen Kankam shot Benjamin with AK47 on Saturday 23rd May, 2020, killing him instantly.

From information gathered, Stephen shot the deceased after he asked him to vacate his room the very same day his rent expired.

Murder linked to Womanizing

Though Stephen keeps giving the police different stories, they have linked the murder to womanizing.

According to the police, the Landlord shot the late tenant because of a lady he desired to have but couldn’t and asked for the help of the late tenant; but the tenant together with the lady ended up spending his money.

You know in cases like this, police open our ears very wide, so information reaching us is that the landlord was a womanizer. Another lady also confirmed that indeed, he is into lots of women.

The landlord told the tenant that he likes a certain woman who he was very ‘free’ with, so he (the deceased) should ‘link’ him to the girl”. Mile 7 District Police Commander, DSP George Asare disclosed in an interview with Kwame Sefa Kayi on Peace FM

“The deceased agreed to connect the two of them, and the girl, with assistance from the deceased, spent lots of the landlord’s money; that is why he even decided not to extend his rent by one year as earlier agreed and insisted that he moved out that very day; upon careful reflections on all the accounts, this one sounds more tenable”. He added

Family demanding justice

Well, rumours have it that, the suspect who comes from a rich home might pay his way out.

This has made the family of the deceased cry out to the general public and the law enforcement agencies to make sure justice is served.
