‘I will spend a night behind bars if I become the president of Ghana’- Hassan Ayariga

Presidential candidate and founder of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has publicized that he will do anything in his power to fight corruption in Ghana and that he would spend a night in prison if he becomes the president.

According to a report filed by JoyNews, Ayariga said, if he wins the 2020 general elections he will spend a night behind bars to show that anyone who messes up under him will not be spared.

However, he made this statement during a debate held for the minority political parties on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the University of Professional Studies, Legon.

Furthermore, Mr. Ayariga said if he becomes the president, his administration will ensure accountability.

” I will go to jail the first day I become President, I am going to sit in the cell, this is to show that anybody corrupt will not have it easy under my office,” he said.

Moreover, he noted that corruption in Ghana has become very attractive because those who are found as culprits are not held accountable for their actions and punished accordingly.

“It’s attractive because we don’t punish them and because we hail people who are corrupt”
