According to Class FM news report the deadly coronavirus has hit Ghana with two cases recorded at the Kolebu Teaching Hospital already.
From the report, two foreigners, one from China and the other from Argentina have shown signs and symptoms of the disease already.
Blood samples have been sent to the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR), for further analysis to confirm.
The two gentlemen who have been in Ghana for a while reportedly walked into Korle Bu after they were referred to the place from a clinic.
Dr William Baah, the Greater Accra Divisional Secretary of the Ghana Medical Association, who confirmed this told Accra-based Joy TV that the Chinese left the home country for Ghana sometime in September 2019 while the Argentine, who was in Shanghai, joined the Chinese here in Ghana in January 2020.
“They’ve all developed some symptoms that fit the case definition [but] it doesn’t mean they have the disease,” he said.
He said another round of testing is expected to be conducted on the two nationals today, Thursday, 6 February 2020.
Health professionals across the globe are working tirelessly to find a cure to arrest the disease.
