COVID-19: Ghana’s confirmed cases skyrockets to 2074 with 212 recoveries

Ghana has recorded 403 new cases of the novel coronavirus or COVID-19, raising the toll of confirmed cases to 2,074 from the previous 1,671 recorded.

The official website of the Ghana Health Service also reveals that the total number of recoveries, as well as deaths, have also changed to 212 and 17 respectively.

88% of all the cases reported have not had any travel history as only 12% have been traced to some evidence of travel.

Also, 62% of the 2,074 are male whilst only 38% are female but no reason has been provided for this rather interesting observation so far.

Greater Accra Region still lead with 1,795 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and is followed by the Ashanti and Eastern Regions with 99 and 70 accordingly.

The rest are Central Region – 21, Oti Region – 19, Upper East Region – 19, Volta Region – 16, Northern Region – 13, Upper West Region – 10, Western Region – 9, North-East Region – 2 and Western North Region – 1.
