COVID-19: Confirmed cases hit 4 million globally

According to data from John Hopkins official Coronavirus website the total number of infections has increased exponentially.

The total number of confirmed cases globally now stands at 4,041,520 as at May 10,2020.

The website also report of 1,348,383 recoveries and 279,565 deaths in a total of 187 countries.

Countries with hard hits

USA tops the chart with 1,305,199 infections, 78,469 deaths and 198,993 recoveries.

Spain follows in line with 222,857 infections, 26,299 deaths and 131,148 recoveries.

Italy in the third place with 218,268 infections, 30,395 deaths and 103,031 recoveries.

The UK follows Italy closely with 216,525 infections, 31,662 deaths and 1,001 recoveries.

Russia has also jumped to fifth with 198,676 infections, 1,827 deaths and 31,916 recoveries.

In Africa, Only Lesotho is yet to record a case.
