Coronavirus: Ghana Records First Death

Ghana recorded 19 cases of the novel coronavirus as at Saturday, March 21, 2020, 17:02 GMT according the Ghana Health Service Website until later this evening. Sadly, there has been a demise of one patient today. This was confirmed by the Deputy Minister of Health, Hon. Alex Kodwo Kom Abban this evening.

The deceased is is a 61-year-old Lebanese male trader and resident in Kumasi who felt unwell and reported to a health facility on 19 March 2020, with fever (temp 39.4 ℃ ), and cough after which his sample tested positive for COVID-19 reported by KCCR. He died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he was being treated.

This brings Ghana’s Covid-19 cases down to 18.
